EAFA Plein Air Schedule, Summer 2010

EAFA Plein Air Schedule, Summer 2009
EAFA welcomes all artists, members or not, to experience the joy and challenges of painting "en plein air" --
French for "open air," or simply painting outdoors in natural light. Prior to the 19th century, artists would do
outdoor "sketches" of paintings they finished in their studios because there were no good methods for transporting
paints. But in the 19th century, zinc tubes were invented, making open air painting viable.
If you have questions, contact Eva Butler (206-325-4676). Most of these locations have easy access, parking and restrooms.
We will get together every Tuesday morning between mid May and mid September starting at about 9:30 am at 17 closeby locations in
the Puget Sound region. At about 12:30 we will gather for lunch and a group "Show and Tell." Anything in any medium goes!
For driving directions and details about each location, please use
this link to access the EAFA Plein Air PDF file.
Note: Special scheduling consideration has been given to coordinate between the
EAFA and Coarts plein air dates. In some locations, the dates for each
organization follow the other group giving plein air painters a chance at
two consecutive days at the same location. Please compare schedules for
these opportunities. COARTS Plein Air Schedule (CoArts PDF Schedule)
