Laif Bannon is in charge of the technology support system that enhances our monthly meetings. He sets up the camera, sound systems -- everything it takes -- to provide visuals for our speakers.
Originally from the Kansas/Missouri area, Laif finds Western Washington much more open to new or unknown artists, a quality that he respects.
As a florist, he creates ever-lasting indoor flower arrangements that confirm his artistic nature and his sense of color and texture. Using the medium of acrylics in painting, he favors a style that he calls ‘puzzle-ism’, because a unifying theme lies within each abstract. His ‘puzzles’, however, contain a more subtle image than that of painters such as M.C. Escher.
Laif’s latest project features "idealized versions of Tee shirts." You can see some of the Tee shirts, as well as his floral arrangements, on his web site, http://laifwbannon.com/.
His work has been shown in many juried, society and one-man shows and a variety of organizations have reaped welcome rewards from auctions of art which he has donated.
His favorite form of entertainment is hosting dinner parties that are enhanced by the pleasure he takes in cooking and gardening. He collects art as a hobby, especially that of women artists. Last but not least, EAFA greatly appreciates his effort and skill with our audiovisual system.
