Invitation

The 2008 Members Show, presented by the Eastside Association of Fine Arts (EAFA), is open to members of EAFA who meet the conditions and deadlines listed in this prospectus. Entries may be any 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional fine art medium, including photography, sculpture, and ceramics. Only one entry per artist will be selected for display.

Juror ~ Mark Jeffries ~ Well-Known Artist from Newcastle, Washington

Bronze casting techniques, University of Wisconsin, Platteville, WI; Bronze casting techniques, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI; Gross Anatomy, Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI; BFA, Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX; Recipient of the 1996 Governors Award for Book Illustration, Washington Authors (Seattle); Sculpture and illustration; imagination in restoration. Mark is a wonderfully open minded with fantasy and realism, and a great photographer!

Eligibility

  • Artists must have EAFA Membership in good standing as of March 20, 2008.
  • Non-Members may join EAFA through March 20th and submit entries at the same time. Members joining EAFA starting March 21, 2008 will not be eligible for this show.
  • Two entries can be submitted per artist, but only one piece per artist will be selected for display. Mark Jeffries will jury for entries as well as awards. Entries may be any 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional fine art medium including Photography. Only digital images will be accepted - no slides.

Conditions

  • All art must be priced to sell.
  • All art must have been created within the last two years and be displayed for the duration of the exhibition.
  • Work with substantial input from another artist or teacher or work copied from a copyrighted or published source is not acceptable, and will cause forfeiture of awards and display privileges.
  • All 2D art must be dry, securely framed, properly finished for protection, and ready to hang with wire attached.
  • Art with exposed glass edges, uni-frames, clip frames, or frames in disrepair will not be accepted. Use hanging wire only, absolutely no saw tooth hangers.
  • Maximum framed size of 2D artwork is 36" by 60", and not less than 8" in height or width.
  • If weight of 2D art exceeds 20 pounds, please use Plexiglas instead of glass.
  • Maximum size of 3D art is 12” (w) x 12” (d) x 25” (h), weighing less than 50 pounds.
  • EAFA and Trilogy reserve the right to refuse any work deemed inappropriate.

Fees and Commissions

  • The non-refundable entry fee is $15 for 1 or 2 pieces, per EAFA member. The entry fee may be paid online, otherwise a check must be mailed with online entry confirmation form.
  • The annual $35 EAFA membership dues may also be submitted with the entry form.
  • EAFA will collect 15% sales commission, and the City of Redmond will collect 10% sales commission on art sold during the exhibition. All sales will be handled by Trilogy Management.
  • Pieces sold up to two weeks after the show as a result of being seen at Trilogy, will be subject to commission.

Responsibilities

  • Artists shall be responsible for delivery and reclaiming of the selected piece at Trilogy on the dates and times indicated. Late retrieval will incur a storage fee of $20, payable by the artist to EAFA.
  • EAFA and Trilogy will take responsible precautions for the care, safety and security of all artwork, but the artist will assume all liability.
  • EAFA reserves the right to create digital images of all submitted artwork and to use those images in printed or video media for publicity purposes, for show programs, for historical record of the exhibit, and for display on the EAFA website.
